*** The successful applicant will support food preparation, washing, cleaning, order organisation and other general duties required to keep the kitchen operating safely and efficiently. As we are a small shop, the employee must be willing to assist wherever reasonably needed during their shift.
Wash dishes, utensils, preparation equipment and other kitchen items.
Keep kitchen benches, sinks, floors, shelves and work areas clean and organised.
Assist with basic food and ingredient preparation as instructed.
Wash, peel, cut, portion and arrange ingredients when required.
Prepare takeaway containers, cups, packaging and serving supplies.
Receive and keep track of customer orders.
Clearly communicate pending and completed orders to the appropriate team member.
Help ensure orders are packed correctly before being handed to customers.
Restock ingredients, packaging, napkins, cups and other supplies.
Store food and ingredients correctly and report low stock, spoilage or damage.
Empty rubbish bins and maintain the designated waste area.
Follow food-safety, personal-hygiene and workplace-cleanliness procedures.
Help with opening and closing cleaning duties.
Support the coffee, smoothie and takeaway areas during busy periods.
Carry out other reasonable duties connected to the daily operation of the shop.
Requirements:

Able to follow instructions and complete duties properly.
Good personal hygiene and a clean, presentable appearance.
Willing to wash dishes, clean and perform physical kitchen duties.
Able to remain calm and organised during busy periods.
Able to communicate clearly with coworkers and customers.
Able to count, read and keep track of basic orders.
Willing to learn basic food preparation and safe food-handling practices.
Able to work well as part of a small team.
Available to work rostered hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends or public holidays when required.
Able to stand for extended periods and safely lift or move normal kitchen supplies.
Must be respectful toward customers, coworkers and management.

Previous experience in a café, restaurant, takeaway shop, bakery or food-service environment.
Basic understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
Experience preparing simple food, drinks or takeaway orders.
